I am tired to death of folks from “up north” telling me about how all Southerners are stupid. They hate our driving, our mannerisms, our culture, our lifestyles. They seem to hate everything about us and where we live. I have to ask if they hate it so much then why the hell did they migrate here? I honestly believe that it must be pure hell up north, if they think this is bad but stay anyway.
Personally, I rather like my South and am a bit jealous about having to share it with a bunch of damned yankees. I like folks who drive courteously. I like not having to talk 90 miles per hour and not talking to folks who do. I’m kind of partial to my dog, grits, sweet tea, and Mama. I really enjoy my shotgun and am a damned fine shot with it. I like the Bible and believe it too. I don’t care much for loud mouthed politicians trying to tell me how I “have” to live my life, and I wish they didn’t “care” about me so damned much. In fact, I kind of like the ideas Dr. Ron Paul has about that sort of thing. We don’t need folks coming around stirring things up. They talk about “change” but what’s so bad about how I live now aside from government trying to influence every part of my life? I bet our founding fathers are rolling in their graves when they see what’s going on. I bet General R.E. Lee would never have surrendered at Appamattox that day if he’d known what was going to happen. I sure wouldn’t have.
I wonder if Thomas Jefferson would even have bothered if he’d known what we were going to become? Or George Washington?
So here we are surrounded on all sides by liars and cheats running for office and out of the blue comes somebody who has morals and principles. The mainstream media ignores him for reasons of their own, even though they know they influence popular opinion. Ron Paul is kicking the other candidates butts in debates,fundraising, honesty, integrity , and his voting record in Congress is impeccable. So why are Americans even considering anyone else for the highest office in the land? I don’t understand it, and damned if anyone can explain it to me either.
I suppose thats enough for now, but I think I will keep this blog thing up. At least until turkey season opens.
